Bac Giang ‘s delegation works with the Vietnamese Consulate General in Fukuoka on promoting local-level international cooperation

At the invitation of the Consulate General of Vietnam in Fukuoka, Japan, from 3 to 7 of October, a working delegation of Bac Giang province led by Le Thi Thu Hong, Permanent Deputy Secretary, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council had a working session to promote local-level cooperation with the localities in Japan and attended the 2nd Global Overseas Vietnamese Economic Forum in Japan.

On October 3, Bac Giang provincial delegation had a working session with the Vietnamese Consulate General in Fukuoka (Japan) to discuss and consult on international cooperation promotion programs at local level with  Kyushu region in general and Miyazaki prefecture in particular. The delegation was received by Vu Chi Mai, Consul General of Vietnam in Fukuoka and her associates working at the Consulate General of Vietnam in Fukuoka, Japan, representatives of the Vietnamese Association in Fukuoka, and Bac Giang Countrymen Association in Osaka.

At the working session, Ms. Vu Chi Mai gave an overview of the development situation, potentials and strengths of the Kyushu economic region, and the fields concerned by Japanese businesses in Kyushu. She highly appreciated the socio-economic development achievements of Bac Giang province in recent years, and suggested that the province need to actively introduce the provincial strengths and potential in The 2nd Global Overseas Vietnamese Economic Forum, the demand on cooperation and promotion of cooperation at the local level in the Forum held in Japan.       

Speaking at the meeting, the leaders of Bac Giang province provided general information about the current socio-economic situation of the province, industrial planning and development orientation in the coming time, the available clear land fund to catch the investment wave in the province, orientation for cooperation in human resource development between the province and foreign localities; technological transfer issues in production, processing and preservation of agricultural products.

Sharing information about the Kyushu region, the Vietnamese Consul General in Fukuoka said: This is a famous region for agricultural development, agricultural production and processing technology with high productivity and good quality, using less manual labor and making the most use of input materials and output products. Japanese businesses here are often small and medium enterprises but operate effectively and have high social security policies.

 Regarding human resource training and supply, Mr. Nguyen Duy Anh, Chairman of the Vietnamese Association in Fukuoka (Headmaster of the Japanese Language School in Fukuoka) said: With a high elderly population rate, Japan is in dire need of human resources from other countries, this is a good opportunity for Bac Giang province to develop the field of manpower supply. He also introduced educational cooperation programs with localities in the country, Japanese language training programs for international students, trainees and workers who want to work in Japan.

          At the end of the meeting, H.E. Le Thi Thu Hong thanked the Consulate General of Vietnam in Fukuoka in recent times for paying attention, supporting Bac Giang province in finding opportunities to promote local level cooperation activities, promoting the image, potentials and strengths of the province to Japanese partners; connecting Bac Giang people in Japan towards building their homeland, etc.
