The leaders of Bac Giang and Xaysomboun provinces visit a lychee garden in Ho Dap commune, Luc Ngan district

At the meeting, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the People’s Council of Luc Ngan district Nguyen Viet Oanh briefed on the socio-economic development of the district. Accordingly, Luc Ngan district has made breakthroughs in all sectors in recent years. Particularly, the district’s economic growth rate in 2022 reached 14.1 percent.

The district is endowed with many potentials and advantages to develop the concentrated fruit cultivation areas gaining high economic value. Luc Ngan district is targeted to become the national key fruit growing area with total 28,000 hectares of land area. The annual production value of fruit trees ranges from 3 to 4 trillion VND, making significant contribution to agricultural and rural development with unique features of Luc Ngan district.

Luc Ngan district is also home to numerous beautiful natural landscapes with rich potentials for tourism development such as Cam Son and Khuon Than lakes and many key and signature products. Particularly, lychee has been affirmed its quality, prestige and trademark in domestic and foreign market (China, the US, Japan, Australia, European and Southeast Asian countries).

Besides, the district is also famous for other products like orange, different species of pomelo, Chu rice noodle, traditional wine and honey. The fruit products and relating services have brought a revenue of about 7 trillion VND to the locals, contributing to enhancing the production value per each hectare of agricultural land to 130 million VND per year.

Specially, the district has many advantages to attract investment in farming tourism, resort, ecological, community-based and cultural tourism associated with the key fruit growing areas. Since 2022, the district has attracted more than 230,000 domestic and foreign arrivals.

On this occasion, the delegation of Xaysomboun province visited Hien Phuoc rice noodle Cooperative in Nam Duong commune, a lychee orchard in Ho Dap commune and star apple planting model in Hong Giang commune.

At the meeting, representatives of Xaysomboun’s agencies exchanged experience with Luc Ngan distric in farm production and development of farming tourism through the cooperative models to effectively implement the cooperative agreement between both provinces and between Luc Ngan district and Anuvong district particularly.
