Luc Ngan granted 10 new lychee planting area codes for export to Australia and Japan

Luc Ngan district has been granted 9 new lychee planting area codes (PAC) for export to Australia and 1 more PAC for export to Japan.

Particularly, the lychee PACs for export to Australia include 01 PAC of Tan Moc farm product consumption Cooperative on Tan Dong village, Tan Moc commune on an area of 20.5 hectares with 18 participating households, 2 PACs of the lychee Production group in Trai Thap village, Tan Lap commune on an area of 31.8 hectares with 31 18 participating households, 6 PACs of the lychee Production group in Cau Meo, Nam Dien, Canh, Ben Huyen villages, Nam Duong commune on a total area of 83.7 hectares with 195 participating households.

Besides, Cuong Thinh Agricultural Service Cooperative in Ho village, Kien Lao commune was granted 01 PAC for export to Japan on an area of 15.5 hectares with 19 participating households.

To date, Luc Ngan district has been granted 98 lychee PACs for export to China, the US, EU, Japan and Thailand.

The total lychee growing area of the district in 2023 was over 17,300 hectares yielding an output of 120,000 tons (increased by 2,000 tons compared to 2022). Of which, the lychee growing area under VietGAP procedures reached more than 13,300 hectares (396 hectares higher than 2022), accounting for 77 percent of the total growing area. All of the lychee output has been sold out.

The total production value reached some 3.3 trillion VND including 890 billion VND from domestic consumption and over 2.4 trillion VND from export. About 230,000 tourists came to Luc Ngan in lychee season (225,000 domestic tourists and 5,000 foreign tourists), up 130,000 arrivals against the previous year.

This year, the production and promotion for consumption of Luc Ngan lychee received continuous attention by the levels and sectors from the central to the local levels, enterprises, cooperatives and garden owners. Particularly, harvesting and purchasing lychee right at the gardens were promoted when traders directly purchased and transported lychee from the gardens for consumption. As a result, all of the lychee productivity has been sold out and Luc Ngan lychee products have been delivered to other provinces and cities nationwide helping to reduce traffic congestion.
