Online promotion conference on consumption of Bac Giang lychee to Singaporean market
On the morning of 29th May, Bac Giang Department of Industry and Trade cooperated with Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency (Ministry of Industry and Trade) and the Trade Office of Vietnam Embassy in Singapore to hold the online promotion conference on consumption of lychees and key farm products of Bac Giang province to Singapore market.
Overview of the conference
The conference in Bac Giang is a part of the Vietnam-Singapore Online Trade Conference on Agricultural, Aquatic Products and Food organized by Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency, Ministry of Industry and Trade on 29th and 30th of May. It is chaired by Vu Ba Phu, Head of the Trade Promotion Agency with the participation of Douglas Foo, Chairman of Singapore Manufacturing Federation and Co-Chairman of Vietnam - Singapore Business Council, Tran Thu Quynh - Vietnam Trade Counselor to Singapore and 86 places of Singaporean importers.
From Bac Giang, Mr. Tran Quang Tan, Director of Department of Industry and Trade introduced the potential and strengths of Bac Giang's key farm products, especially lychees. Bac Giang lychees has become a famous brand in domestic and foreign markets with an area of 28 thousand hectares (the largest in the country), the annual output reaches over 150-200 thousand tons a year (estimated to reach 160 thousand tons in 2020). Currently, Bac Giang lychee is being protected in nearly 10 countries and exported to many countries in the world such as China, USA, EU, Korea, Australia, Malaysia, Middle East, Thailand, etc. and highly appreciated by consumers for its quality, safety and traceability.
Discussing at the conference, the Bac Giang leader stressed, the province always welcomes and invites Singaporean importers and traders to pay attention, survey and promote lychees to Singaporean market. Bac Giang province pledged to create the most favorable conditions such as transport depots, concentrated lychee purchasing points which are spacious, clean, cool and convenient. The provincial authorities perform simple administrative procedures, creating the most favorable conditions for businesses and traders to supervise the purchase and consumption of lychee, especially proceduresrelated to foreign traders; absolutely do not let incidents of administrative procedures affect the consumption of lychee; prepare the best plans to ensure political security, social order and safety, traffic safety without traffic congestion; do well the market management without commercial fraud, create the best lychee business environment.
It is known that Singapore market is importing lychee from Thailand and Taiwan (China), but the quality of lychee from these countries is not as good as Vietnamese lychee, especially Bac Giang lychee. Therefore, it is very important to bring Bac Giang lychee to Singapore market, paving the way for the export of other key agricultural products of the province.
