Speaking at the meeting, PPC Chairman Le Anh Duong informed Bac Giang province has made continuous breakthroughs in recent years. Its annual economic growth has been in top provinces in Vietnam; particularly it reached 19.3 percent in 2022, the highest ever and ranking 2^nd nationwide and the figure was 12.04 percent in the first 9 months i2023.

The investment climate has been dramatically developed. FDI attraction of the province in recent year has gained high results. The infrastructure of the province has been completed synchronously and modernly. Industrial sector has seen strong development being driving force for the growth of the province. Political and social security and order are secured. It can be said that Bac Giang is a highlight in economic development and attractive destination for investors.

PPC Chairman stressed Bac Giang has developed good relationship with Indian partners so far. India is the third biggest export market of the province. However, Bac Giang has not attracted many FDI projects from Indian companies, currently there is only one Indian project in Bac Giang province with the investment of 6 million USD.

In order for more effective cooperation with Indian partners, Incham Vietnam and the delegates were expected to pay attention and support Bac Giang province to introduce Indian prestigous businesses and corporations to invest in the province in the fileds of India’s strength such as information and technology, production of medicine, pharmacy, vaccine and medical equipment.

          Speaking at the meeting, Indronil Sengupta requested the province to provide information in the prioritized sectors for investment attraction and policies for investors, plan on roof-top solar electricity development in the industrial parks while raising some difficulties facing the Indian company in the province.

          In his response, PPC Chairman Le Anh Duong said, in the provincial master plan to 2030, the province will have 29 industrial parks while there are 8 ongoing industrial parks at present. The province wishes to attract high-technology projects such as electricity, electronics, manufacturing while they do not encourage investment projects posing high risks of environment pollution with old technology, using many workers and power. The minimum investment rate for each project is 4 million USD per 1 hectare of land. The province will not encourage garment and footwear projects to the industrial parks.

Bac Giang province always pays attention and support investors to the locality. The province has established the task forces headed by a Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee and representatives of related departments and agencies to guide investors in dealing with administrative procedures before implementing the projects such as environmental impact evaluation procedure, firefighting procedure and issuance of construction permit.

INCHAM Chairman Indronil Sengupta stressed the investment climate of Bac Giang has been dramatically improved. In coming time, INCHAM will introduce Indian corporations to seek investment opportunities in Bac Giang in the sectors of the province’s priority.
