4 June, the Indian Ambassador to Vietnam Parvathaneni Harish paid a courtesy call to Chairman of Bac Giang provincial People’s Committee (PPC) Nguyen Van Linh on his visit and giving a bodhi tree to Bac Giang province to plant at Tay Yen Tu spiritual and ecological tourism complex, Son Dong district. The meeting was attended by leaders of the provincial departments of Foreign Affairs, Culture, Sport and Tourism.

4 June, the Indian Ambassador to Vietnam Parvathaneni Harish paid a courtesy call to Chairman of Bac Giang provincial People’s Committee (PPC) Nguyen Van Linh on his visit and giving a bodhi tree to Bac Giang province to plant at Tay Yen Tu spiritual and ecological tourism complex, Son Dong district. The meeting was attended by leaders of the provincial departments of Foreign Affairs, Culture, Sport and Tourism.

At the meeting, Chairman Nguyen Van Linh briefed the Ambassador on potentials, strengths and socio-economic development orientation of the province. Accordingly, Bac Giang has advantages in agricultural production and human resources. Currently, the province is focusing on enhancing quality of agricultural produce and agricultural production applying high technology. He expected the Ambassador to introduce Indian investors to the province especially in fruit preservation and processing to improve the value of farm produce. Besides, he asked the Ambassador to support the province in learning Indian experience in lychee growing and processing, technology transfer in agricultural sector and provide Bac Giang with official development assistance (ODA) resources in high-tech agricultural production. Hence, fostering the bilateral relation between Vietnam and India in general as well as between Bac Giang province and Indian’s provinces and cities in particular.

In 2017, the Indian Embassy to Vietnam granted 50,000 USD for Mai Trung Kindergarten (Hiep Hoa district). This is a very meaningful aid package because Mai Trung is a commune facing a lot of difficulties.

The Indian Ambassador affirmed to continue introducing and calling for more investors to visit Bac Giang province, search and develop the projects related to farm produces’ processing, preserving and consuming as well as trading and tourism. Besides, he hoped that the provinces and cities of the two nations will promote the cultural relation via organizing the festival and exchange activities so as to further boost up the multifaceted cooperative tie between the two countries. The Indian government provides Vietnam with annual short-term and medium-term training courses; thus, Bac Giang province can send its officials to study or attend international conferences in India.

In response to the Ambassador’s opinions, PPC Chairman Nguyen Van Linh stressed Bac Giang has adequate facilities to organize Indian cultural events in the province. He assigned DOFA seeking suitable training courses for officials of the province to improve their  competence and working skills.

On the same day, PPC Vice Chairman Le Anh Duong, the Ambassador and other delegates performed an incense offering ritual at Ha (Lower) pagoda, Tay Yen Tu spiritual and ecological tourism complex in Son Dong district  and planed the bodhi tree given by the Ambassador.
