Samsung Electronics Vietnam presents 100 wheelchairs to people with disabilities in Bac Giang

On 16 September, the people’s committee of Yen Dung district in northern province of Bac Giang coordinated with the provincial Department of Foreign Affairs and Samsung Electronics Vietnam Company Limited (SEV) to present wheelchairs to 100 people with disabilities in Yen Dung district.

Presenting wheelchairs is one of the social activities of SEV to show gratitude to local people and community in Vietnam. This activity was first implemented in Bac Ninh in 2010 then Thai Nguyen in 2014 and Bac Giang since 2019. This year is the second time people with disabilities in Bac Giang were donated wheelchairs which help them to reduce moving obstacles, rehabilitate and overcome difficulties in life.

Addressing the event, Ryu Kil Sang, Director of Communication and Foreign Affairs of Samsung Vietnam said, “During 10 years, SEV has implemented wheelchair presenting programme with a hope to share a part of the life difficulties to the disabled people and encourage them to find more belief and fortitude to conquer the challenges. SEV is striving to make contribution to the local development with a desire to fuel the belief and hope of vulnerable people and help them to ease burden. In coming time, SEV will collaborate with the Department of Foreign Affairs of Bac Giang province to implement more projects to support and encourage disabled people in the community.

On behalf of the people’s committee of Yen Dung district, Vice Chairman of the district people’s committee Nguyen Van Thuong thanked SEV for their attention to and sharing with disabled people in the locality. Besides, he hoped the company to continue supporting and accompanying the local government to help needy families especially children, disabled people and policy beneficiary families.

In recent years, SEV has supported a huge source of expense to implement a number of projects in Bac Giang province such as presenting the smart library to Luc Ngan No 2 High School (in 2013), building latrine and water filter system worth over 7 billion VND (301,700 USD) to 26 schools in the province that benefit nearly 225,000 students, collaborating with KFHI to inaugurate construction of “Samsung Hope School” project in Hiep Hoa district valued at nearly 20 billion VND (over 862,000 USD) in July 2020. These are practically meaningful activities for social security in the province.
