The Standing Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Mai Son works with the Embassy of Japan in Vietnam
To prepare for the Conference of Bac Giang – Japan, Connection for Development, on the afternoon of March 24, 2021, the delegation of Bac Giang province was led by Mr. Mai Son, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee working with the Embassy of Japan in Vietnam. The working delegation of the province included leaders of the Provincial People's Committee Office and Department of Foreign Affairs.
Receiving and working with the delegation were Mr. Asazuma Shinichi, Deputy Ambassador; Representatives of The Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Vietnam (JCCI), The Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) and associates.

The Deputy Ambassador highly appreciated efforts of leaders and agencies of Bac Giang province in implementing activities to promote cooperation with Japanese partners; The Embassy of Japan and Japanese international organizations in Vietnam such as JCCI, JETRO, etc. will coordinate with Bac Giang province to organize the Bac Giang - Japan Conference, connection for development successfully.
At the meeting, the Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Mai Son proposed the Embassy of Japan to consider and agree on the time to hold the conference at the end of May or the first week of June 2021 and the conference program; support in providing a list of Japanese international organizations in Vietnam and Japanese enterprises for Bac Giang province to send invitations; assist the province in asking Japan's Governor of Gifu prefecture for giving video speech at the conference and promoting the establishment of local-level relations between the two provinces; reviewing the procedures to award the Certificate of Geographical Indication Protection of "Bac Giang Litchi" at the Conference, etc.

At the end of the meeting, the two sides agreed to continue the discussion and agree on the meeting time and agenda in the next week; Bac Giang province will prepare and provide documents and videos related to the province and its cooperative demand to the Embassy of Japan to post on the embassy website in order for Japanese businesses to easily access to information. The Embassy will support and exchange with relevant agencies about the proposals of Bac Giang province so that the two sides can coordinate closely to hold theConferenceof Bac Giang - Japan,Connection for Development successfully./.
