Vietnam extends visa exemption for citizens of 5 western European countries

On 10th May 2018, the Vietnamese Government issued the Resolution No.54/NQ-CP, which agreed to extend the policy on unilateral visa exemption for citizens of 5 western European countries including United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, France and Spain next three years from 1st July 2018 to the end of 30th June 2021.

On 10th May 2018, the Vietnamese Government issued the Resolution No.54/NQ-CP, which agreed to extend the policy on unilateral visa exemption for citizens of 5 western European countries including United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, France and Spain for next three years from 1st July 2018 to the end of 30th June 2021.

Accordingly, the Government agreed to extend Vietnamese visa exemption unilaterally three years more from July 1, 2018 to June 30, 2021 for citizens of England, Germany, Italy, France and Spain who meet all conditions prescribed by Vietnamese law if the stay is less than 15 days regardless of the types of passport or entry purposes.

The Government assigns the Ministry of Public Security to chair and coordinate with Ministries of Foreign Affairs, National Defense, Culture, Sports and Tourism, Justice and related ministries and agencies in proposing to amend and supplement a number of articles of the Law on Entry, Exit, Transit and Residence of Foreigners in Vietnam and report it to the Government.
