Promoting cooperation between Bac Giang province and Japanese partners

On October 6, the working delegation of Bac Giang province led by Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Le Thi Thu Hong attended the 2nd Global Overseas Vietnamese Economic Forum, connecting Vietnam – Kyushu local and business cooperation in Fukuoka, Japan.

The forum was chaired by the Consulate General of Vietnam in Fukuoka with the participation of leaders of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Planning and Investment.

H.E. Le Thi Thu Hong and delegates visited the exhibition booth of Bac Giang province.

Attending the forum, there were leaders of 8 provinces including Bac Giang, Hai Duong, Lang Son, Thai Nguyen, Dien Bien, Ca Mau, Vinh Long, Ho Chi Minh City and the Association of Local Development Investment Funds, Vietnam – Poland Business Association, Vietnam Business Association in Europe and leaders of some businesses, etc.

On the Japanese side, there was the participation of H.E. Hattori Seitaro, Governor of Fukuoka Prefecture, Leaders of the Friendship Parliamentary Alliance of Fukuoka Prefecture and provinces in the Kyushu region, and leaders of Japanese businesses.

Speaking about the meaning and purpose of the Forum, Ms. Vu Chi Mai, Consul General of Vietnam in Fukuoka emphasized "The Consulate General, the Kyushu Economic Federation and the Fukuoka provincial government will be the bridge and substantive trade promotion channel, creating conditions for localities and businesses of the two countries to connect sustainably, promote trade, and seek opportunities for business cooperation and development."

This forum,  held on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan, will contribute to further strengthening the strong relationship between the two countries with the milestone "deeply strategic partnership for peace and prosperity in Asia”.

Speaking at the Forum, Mr. Phan The Tuan, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Giang province shared some general information about the socio-economic development situation and development orientation of the province in the coming time. He also emphasized the cooperation results of Bac Giang province with Japanese partners in fields such as investment, trade, services, culture, education and people-to-people exchanges.

Highly appreciating the organization of the forum to connect local and business cooperation of Vietnam and  Kyushu, he considered this an opportunity for the working delegation and businesses of Bac Giang province to exchange and introduce potentials, strengths as well as the ability to cooperate with localities and businesses in the Kyushu region.

He said that Bac Giang province would like to establish a local-level cooperative relationship with a Japanese province or city, attract investors with potential and strengths in high-tech and environmentally friendly processing and manufacturing industries, clean energy, agricultural product processing, high-class hotel complex, modern commercial centers and supermarkets.

Promoting cooperation between Bac Giang province and Japanese partners in trade promotion, market expansion, and promotion of the provincial goods export to Japan; enhancing the ability to access market information, requirements, standards, and technical barriers of Japan so that businesses in Bac Giang province can develop products that meet requirements.

Cooperating with Japanese partners and educational institutions in training high-quality human resources, Japanese language training and supplying high-quality labor to the Japanese market.

Sharing experiences in socio-economic development, tourism development associated with preserving and promoting cultural heritage; digital transformation, building smart cities, responding to climate change, etc.

Attending the Forum, Bac Giang province arranged a display booth with the market featuring typical images of culture, key agricultural products and images of industrial zones and clusters with documents and publications introducing Bac Giang province.
